LingHop Mate

Share your Tokyo experience with someone who is new here.

LingHop Mate connects people who know Tokyo with those who are new here and need small practical support.

What is a Mate?

A Mate is someone who has lived, studied, or worked in Tokyo, and shares that practical experience with people who are new here.

That means answering everyday questions, talking through an unfamiliar situation, or helping with small things that are hard when you don't know the city yet.

A Mate isn't a tour guide, a professional advisor, or a companionship service — just someone a few steps ahead who's happy to help.

Every choice is yours.
We're just here to help you make it.

What kind of support?
Safety & boundaries

LingHop Mate is built on trust, so a few clear rules keep everyone safe:

  • Support happens online, or in person in public places only — never in private homes, rooms, hotels, or accommodations.
  • Mates offer practical help, not dating, companionship, or emergency support.
  • Mates share experience — they don't give legal, medical, immigration, real estate, or financial advice.
Payment & eligibility
  • Some conditions may change over time, and we'll always keep Mates updated.
  • Paid sessions may become available after approval.
  • To receive payment, Mates must be legally allowed to do so in Japan.
  • For now, paid opportunities focus on those with no work restrictions in Japan.
